Apple is expected to released a new iPhone for Verizon is early 2011. Currently the iPhone is only available for at&t, which has been a major dissapointment for customers from all other cell phone carriers. The Motorola Android-based handset line has been a big hit with Verizon, however, with the introduction of the iPhone to the Verizon company, sales for the Android will surely plummet. Due to this almost certain decrease in sales, Motorola is planning to then ship a large number of the Android product overseas, including China, where interested has seemed to be growing.
I believe that the introduction of the iPhone to Verizon will surely take off, and surpass any sort of estimation of sales. Not only will Apple benefit by selling more units, Verizon will surely excell when the implement the iPhone into there services. Many customers from other major cell phone services (T-Mobile and Sprint) will surely look to change plans to get there hands on the new iPhone. This deal between Verizon and Apple is a win-win situation in which both companies will flourish.

It seems that releasing the iPhone to Verizon will be a huge benefit for both Apple and Verizon, but it may hurt AT&T by causing them to lose the customers who switch to AT&T solely for the iPhone. Now everyone with Verizon who is either not interested in the Droid or has just always wanted an iPhone will be able to without switching plans. This will definitely see an enormous jump in sales as Colin points out. It will be interesting to see if the market for iPhones can get even bigger than it already is, and it appears that in 2011 it will.
