Google To Launch New TV Platform Globally In 2011

Google has announced that it will be releasing a new Google TV platform next year. It will have a search bar at the top of the television screen to search the internet while watching TV. The platform plans were unveiled in Berlin and hinted at voice recognition software to change channels. This will be a drastic change in the way televisions and consumer electronics operate.
I believe that Google's new TV will spark a new generation of electronics that incorporate a hybrid of the internet and televisions. People can now use the internet and search TV listings via the internet instead of standard guides on the television, as well as anything else they wish to find. Google is taking a big step along with Apple to produce TV systems as companies that do not specialize in televisions at all. This could lead to success by introducing fresh ideas, but it could also flop due to their lack of experience and expertise. It will depend on customer satisfaction to know whether or not Google has a chance at getting its foot in the door of tangible electronics other than its renowned search engine.
